3 Nov 2026 - 19:00 | Barbican Centre, London
Senegalese practice Worofila presents this year's Rick Mather lecture, celebrating the work of architects who are making important contributions to thinking about sustainability.
Led by Nzinga Mboup and Nicolas Rondet, Worofila is an architecture practice based in Dakar. Its work focuses on designing buildings that work with the local climate and make use of locally sourced, low-impact materials, traditional knowledge, and simple, community-led ways of building and maintaining them.
The lecture also celebrates the upcoming publication of Ecosystems: A Contemporary African Architecture, which brings together Worofila’s work to date, from housing and public buildings to infrastructure and spaces for learning and experimentation.
