This bundle brings together Joanna Piotrowska’s Stable Vices (2021) with the new French-language booklet Entre nous (2023) to form a complete overview of the Polish artist's major photographic and film works to date, spanning themes of containment, physicality, oppression, and freedom, and accompanied by texts by Sara De Chiara, Joanna Bednarek, Dorota Masłowska, and Anouchka Grose. Published in conjunction with an exhibition at LE BAL, Paris, 16 February to 21 May 2023.

Praise for Stable Vices:

‘After more than a year of restrictions, Piotrowska’s photographs – and how they explore ideas of confinement, shelter, inequality and oppression – feel especially arresting and vital, in their uniquely unsettling ways.’ AnOther

‘There’s so much to be done to ease the fear and pain that women face every day, and Stable Vices almost replicates the types of daily traumas that many may go through: the preparation of defence, the need for a safe space and oppression. At once concerning and here to evoke change, we must also think of her photography as a form of remedy.’ PORT Magazine

AnOther

PORT Magazine
